Fashion Fridays with Kurt Vonnegut!
…So, this is embarrassingly late. But it’s still technically Friday, so it counts! I didn’t forget completely; I just had a crazy busy day. At any rate, let’s get down to brass tacks.
Suspenders.Holy shit, Kurt in suspenders. I didn’t know how much I needed that in my life until I saw this photo. He just looks good, and yet so casual. Not to mention, this is the same way he holds his cigarette in that photo of him that reminds me of my dad (the one in front of the house). I suppose that must have been a habit of his.

Kurt seems to have liked wearing a lot of layers as he aged. Maybe he got cold easily? Anyway, I love it. His sweater vest looks really warm and soft. Also, I love men who wear dark shirts and dark ties. It’s a sexy combination, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. And the jacket, of course, ties the whole ensemble together. Plus, glasses. Always the glasses (they’re second only to the trench coat).
Also, even though his hands are clearly in his pockets, I’m going to pretend that his elbows are out because he’s about to give me a hug. Because I want a hug from Kurt.

I would stop posting pictures of Kurt in his trench coat—I really would—if I didn’t keep coming across them. But clearly this coat is deserving of my attention.
I love how he always layers things. And that blue shirt is a perfect colour on him. Plus, the glasses! They’re so adorable! Glasses + trench coat = automatic FF post.

For starters, this is just an awesome picture because Kurt’s speaking at a peace rally. I love photos like this, photos that have some kind of story behind them. I want to know when and where this was, and what he was reading from that podium, and how he felt that day.
Also, it’s the coat. I have to pay homage to the coat. That’s really what drew my eye about this photo. And the sweater he’s got on underneath is adorable, too. Also, I can’t remember if I’ve talked about his glasses before, but I always love them. Old men in thick-rimmed glasses are just so cute.

Found another young!Kurt. I think I’ve reblogged this before, but I wanted to highlight it here. Check out that glorious 1937 style. Can we please look at that belt? He’s so adorable.
Also, in the ongoing saga of “Lauren compares Kurt to her father”, this reminds me of really old photos of him (he was born in the 1940s, but close enough). Especially with the hair and the t-shirt and the casual attitude. I love it.

Adorable grandpa look? Check.
This is too cute. And that hat! He looks so warm in his funny hat! And then his little sweater and his jacket…. I love it. He definitely looks quite old here, but not frail, you know? He’s all bundled up but he’s still got some fight left in him.

Bow ties are cool. In fact, I think I posted this a while back and highlighted it for that very same reason. But aside from making my Whovian heart go pitter-patter, this man just looks so dapper in a bow tie. I love casual-and-comfortable Kurt, but the dressy look is so nice once in a while.
And once again, he’s wearing that same lovable trench coat. Brb dying.

Oh man, the powder-blue jacket. And the blue shirt to go with it. Light blue is an excellent colour on Kurt, I think. I like him at this age, when his hair is starting to grey but he doesn’t quite look “old” yet. He’s so distinguished-looking yet casual here.
Here’s my headcanon for this photo: He was on his way to dinner, about to open the door on the driver’s side, and someone said, “Hang on, Kurt, I want a picture of you.” So he leaned against the hood of the car and reached up to adjust his lapel. He didn’t smile, but his eyes softened, and someone snapped the photo. Then he got into the car and didn’t give the picture a second thought.

First of all, I think we can all agree that young!Kurt is incredibly attractive. Excuse me while I take a cold shower.
That sweater- I can’t even… Kurt’s sweaters are just consistently the best. If I ever forget another Fashion Friday, the replacement will always be Sweater Saturday. This is also another “swaggering Kurt” photo, which is awesome. God, I wish this picture was in colour. I bet he’d look even snazzier.

For starters, check out that swagger. This man knows he looks damn good. That sweater vest is so adorable, and I’m pretty sure I’ve highlighted that trenchcoat in the past. (I’m assuming it’s the same coat because Kurt seems like the kind of man who would buy one fantastic coat and say, “Yes. This. All day, every day.”)
Also, I just realised that this photo is the basis for that mural that just got painted. You know what really makes me excited, though? Kurt is wearing my school colours. This might be the most fabulous combination of orange and blue that I’ve ever seen. God, I love him.
